Never been

Nervous is the normal way to arrive.

Almost everyone here was anxious the first time. This page is the whole thing written down, so there is nothing left to imagine on the drive over.

Never been

Your first night, start to finish.

No surprises, no jargon, no part left vague. This is the whole thing, in order.

  1. 01

You park and walk down the alley

Pay and display directly opposite. The entrance is at the bottom, not on the street, which is exactly why nobody sees you arrive.

  2. 02

Someone meets you at the door

A person, by name, expecting you. Photo ID checked, ticket scanned, coat and phone into a locker.

  3. 03

You join, if it is your first time

Ten minutes at reception. Β£40 for a rolling year, couples and singles the same. Nobody joins online, because character does not come through a form.

  4. 04

    You get the tour

The bar, the lounges, the private rooms, the rules. Staff walk you round and answer anything. This is where most of the nerves go.

  5. 05

    You have a drink

A licensed bar, a seat, and people who were exactly as nervous as you on their first night. Plenty of members spend the whole evening here.

  6. 06

    Nothing else is expected

Not by staff, not by members, not by anyone. Consent is the house rule and it is enforced. You leave when you like.

Sunday Sinners is the relaxed one, and it is the night we point every newcomer at.

The honest bit

The six things people actually worry about.

  • I will be the only one who does not know what they are doing.

Newcomer workshops have run here since 2018 and there are new members every single week. Sunday is deliberately the quiet night for exactly this reason.

  • Somebody will expect something from me.

Nobody will. Consent is written into membership, explained on your tour, and enforced by removal. Sitting at the bar all night is a completely normal evening here.

  • Someone I know will see me going in.

The entrance is down an alley at the rear, not on Radcliffe Road. Phones and cameras are not allowed upstairs. Nothing is ever posted to your home address.

  • I will not know what to wear.

Smart. Shirts rather than t-shirts on Friday and Saturday, no trainers or football shirts. Sundays are relaxed. If in doubt, message and ask before you come.

  • What if we get there and change our minds.

Then you finish your drink and go home. That happens, nobody minds, and you keep your membership for whenever you feel ready.

  • What if my partner is keener than I am.

Come to a Sunday social or a workshop first, with no expectation of anything else. Plenty of couples do exactly that and take months to decide.

From people who did it

First visits, in their words.

Very good adult club. Staff are incrediblely friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Gordon on the front door was an absolute gentleman and was a great person to talk to throughout the night. You will need to buy tickets in advance though as specific nights require you to register before the event. We went to team players and was a very good night as the hosts were really friendly and helped ease us in as it was the first time visiting this venue.

Came here for the first time last night and was amazed how elegant the place was. Done up beautifully and it’s like a luxurious hotel. Met the owner & she was so lovely and the staff were very friendly, chatting & made you feel welcome. Would recommend any one to go as me and my partner felt so chilled & relaxed there.
